Our Journey


Our journey embarked in the heart of The Gambia, affectionately known as the “smiling coast of Africa,” many moons ago. It was love at first sight! not just for the breathtaking landscapes but for the warm hearted people who welcomed us with open arms. Yet, amidst this affection, we couldn’t help but notice a glaring disparity: a significant portion of the community lacked access to clean water.

In response, we rolled up our sleeves and initiated small scale community projects, fueled by our own resources and dedication. We installed water taps, distributed essential food supplies, and leapt in to assist local schools and communities with equipment and construction work. What started as a heartfelt passion soon evolved into a vision, and in 2017, we took the official plunge and established our very own charity!

Our journey has seen a series of transformations, navigating the winding paths of charity work. Today, we stand proud as an international, not-for-profit organisation, fully self sustained and self governing. We’re not just the captain of our ship; we’re responsible for our entire fleet!

Since those early days, our commitment has blossomed into a remarkable impact. We’ve successfully completed over 80 water projects in The Gambia, quenching the thirst of countless communities. We’ve extended our support through food packs delivery, making a difference in the lives of thousands in need. 

Our journey may have begun with a bit of love, a dash of determination, and a sprinkle of humor, but it has grown into a tapestry of genuine impact and heartfelt moments!

Moreover, in the past two years, we embarked on trial runs of our food pack distribution initiative in South Asia, and simultaneously, we undertook a food pack program designed to assist the elderly in the UK. Maintaining quality and safeguarding the entrusted funds is our foremost commitment, which is why we maintain hands on involvement in every facet of our projects, ensuring a seamless journey from inception to completion.

Our journey’s progress has hinged upon the invaluable assistance and unwavering support of our generous donors. With their contributions, we’ve been able to meticulously plan and execute impactful projects. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every individual who has stood by us, regardless of the scale of their contribution.

Omar Haque

Omar is known as “Mr Logistics” for a good reason. His knack for planning and managing projects is nothing short of remarkable, and he’s equally passionate about rolling up his sleeves and supporting his teams directly on the ground.

With over 15 years of experience in policing, including the last five years in the intense world of counter terrorism, Omar brings extensive leadership, strategic and creative skills as well as a deep understanding of diverse communities to the table.

He’s the reliable backbone and the steady hand that guides our team, his dedication to our cause is exceptional!

Saj Zaman

Saj Zaman

Saj boasts a rich history in law enforcement, having occupied significant roles in safeguarding and child protection.

Despite her prominent position in the national fraud unit, she remains deeply committed to collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing our society, namely her charitable endeavours in the Gambia, which she has passionately pursued since 2010.

Saj plays a pivotal role in the establishment, support, and expansion of our projects. Her love for travel makes her our our globe trotting superhero, who ventures into to the heart of our projects, where she offers support and reports invaluable firsthand feedback, a cornerstone of our team’s success!

A financial guru running his own customer service led company: I.I Financial Services Ltd, we are proud of Imran’s pedigree in ensuring all our finances are in tip top shape. Passionate about customer care, he develops bespoke programmes for his clients, amassing a large and loyal network.

Imran brings a finely tuned balance of humour and fun with a professional touch to our team. His encyclopedic knowledge of the social media realm, which powers our charity and fundraising efforts, renders him an indispensable member of our team.
